16.02.2011 /// The expansion and redevelopment of the Saul Bellow Library in Lachine borough will be subject to a two-stage architectural competition aimed at selecting a distinctive project and choosing professional services in architecture for the design and supervision of construction work.
Assessment
On the basis of pre-established criteria, a seven-member jury will be called upon to recommend seven finalists to the Ville de Montréal – Lachine borough during Stage 1 and a winning project and multidisciplinary team in Stage 2.
Stage 1 / Call for applications
Unpaid stage, reserved for architects in Québec only. Teams must submit their application packages for selection by the jury.
Stage 2 / Project
The seven finalists chosen in Stage 1 must prepare their projects and present them to the jury.
Documents
The competition documents (summary regulations and program) may be obtained on the Système électronique d’appel d’offres (SÉAO) from February 16, 2011, to March 10, 2011.
Registration
Registration with Louise Amiot, the competition’s professional advisor, is required for access to the assessment process. The registration form, included in the regulations, must be returned to the professional advisor no later than March 11, 2011.
Site visit
The site is freely accessible, and no formal visit is planned in Stage 1 of the competition.
